Updating Other Manufacturers Prices
and Product Data

The "Other Manufacturers" feature allows a sales representative or wholesaler to use the MIFAB Kwik Quote program for their entire product line.

In order for the feature to work, the Microsoft Access database with a filename of OtherManufacturers.mdb must be present in the same directory as the MIFAB price data. To download an empty database from our web site, use this link, then "unzip" and the files will be copied to the default directory. All you have to do is load that database up with the other product lines you wish to include on your quotations.

When you open the database, the switchboard is presented.

First, you must add all of the other manufacturers' names.

[ Add Other Manufacturers ]

Keep the name to 10 characters or less, because there is limited space to print the manufacturer's name on the quotation. Once you add "series" and products to a manufacturer, you CANNOT change the manufacturer's name.

When you have completed the list of manufacturers, go on to the products.

[ Add Products and Prices ]

First, create a series. This is one group of products, say "air conditioners". Then under the products, enter all of the air conditioners in that series. It is good to have a series for a list of items you usually have on a quotation.

When you have entered the products and prices, go on to the special messages.

[ Add Special Messages ]

Special messages are the text that appears after a series of items on the quotation. For example, if your air conditioners meet environmental standards you might want to create a message for that like "our air conditioner line is freon free". On the products and prices form you indicate that you want a special message displayed.

When you are finished adding data, go to the menu Tools / Database Utilities / Compact and Repair Database

Now you are ready to add Other Manufacturers to your quotations using MIFAB's Kwik Quote
